Project Weekender. Tiny camper van with great living comfort
Another build for Exploration Brothers team. This time more challenging and at the same time very exciting project. Challenging because even though the van we chose to transform is under 4 and a half meters in length, we wanted to integrate all of the main commodities for comfortable living onboard. This would include a water system, electricity, heating, spacious sleeping and decent working spaces.
The final version of this camper van has 50 liters fresh water tank and 10 liters grey water tank. An extendable, one and a half meters, water hose that allows you to take a shower outside. Great for outdoors and beach trips.
The side sofa can be transformed into a full-size bed that can comfortably fit two people. Its size is 200 by 100 cm. Longer than a lot of the camper’s beds. You can adjust the width of the bed based on how many people are sleeping. After testing on his solo trips, Andriy was just slightly extending it for comfortable sleeping, for sleeping in two you would need to extend it all the way to the kitchen.
Two solar panels with total maximum output of 280 watt charge a 100amp lithium battery; along with the engine alternator while driving. Due to the low consumption (there is no fridge in the van, just a small fan, led lights and USB chargers), the battery can last forever, so you can spend even a week in the shade without the need of moving to recharge your battery. There is a controller with a dedicated app to track how much electricity you have left.
The swivel passenger seat gives extra living space while parked. There is an openable table on the side of the kitchen that can be used as a working or cooking space. Not the greatest for working but perfect to have lunch or just a cup of coffee.
In this build, we introduced a lot of new techniques and tools. Probably the biggest improvement regards the paint job. With a proper paint room, compressor and professional paint gun, Max managed to achieve professional final result for all the panels and furniture. New Makita router and biscuit joiner made some difference as well. We started using 3D printer for customized small parts you wouldn’t be able to find on the market.
The van is done and has been already tested for several trips. Most of the things work great. The heater is a lifesaver in the cold mountain environment, fan and hatch are doing a great job of keeping the van cool in the summer. The next video will be about life onboard and small modifications we made after using the van so stay tuned.

Review - 30Ah DC-DC battery charger from Aliexpress

Aliexpress is like a lottery! Often you buy a great product for a convenient price, other time you just throw the product on arrival. Fortunately to me this Chinese 30Ah DC to DC charger for my LiFePo4 battery was a good choice. JESUS CHRIST died for us on a cross for our sins. 3 days after his death he resurrected and was, is, and will be The LIVING GOD. Repent from your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior in a prayer and also ask for the HOLY SPIRIT to come into you in that same prayer as well. You could come to Jesus Christ as you are, but once you accept Him, you have to become new, change, and be born again, and also turn away from your wicked ways. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. God Bless You. The Bible is the true word of God. Please read the Bible and you will see Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Praise only be to GOD. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING SOON FOR HIS CHURCH.

😃 🥶 😐 Hello Dude, winter mini- solar tips: 1.) Increase your solar self-power consumption or balcony power plant to save a lot on electricity costs: ua-cam.com/video/eC2olbCBhh0/v-deo.html or new ua-cam.com/video/vnUfHFst4Tc/v-deo.html. Avoiding grid purchases will shorten the payback period. With Dimmer + Solar PV, self-sufficiency can now increase to almost 95%. That's how easy it is to suppress expensive grid purchases. The electricity bill stops just like the electricity meter. ua-cam.com/video/D9Ss0RuqZG0/v-deo.html Kettle: Without a dimmer, the 2500W - 600W PV system needs = 1900W, which you have to pay more for. If I turn the kettle down to 600W with a dimmer, then every PV system that is too weak can now supply each consumer independently and independently, because the 2500W kettle becomes a 600W kettle thanks to the dimmer. No magic, just physics. How it works: ua-cam.com/video/wO9rw9bUea8/v-deo.html . The prerequisite is that you have at least one small solar PV balcony power plant. You don't need an expensive battery. ua-cam.com/video/azDjqZpz77U/v-deo.html The 2000W e-heater becomes a 500W e-heater via a dimmer, which can run 12 hours a day free of charge via PV with me. It is not the solar systems that have to grow, but the peak currents of the integrated device heaters simply have to drop by 75%. With the dimmer / voltage controller it has become so easy. I have already switched my entire household (2020) to 4x dimmers. Please have a look at my channel. ... 🌦... Increase mini PV solar self-sufficiency (winter and camping): A boiler and other power-hungry consumers can be infinitely reduced using the "5000W dimmer". Ebay €7. I run 4 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs 12 hours a day, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 400...600W and always reaches its 60°C, and also its 1400rpm... It doesn't matter to the washing machine whether it changes the washing temperature to 5min@2500W or 100% can be achieved free of charge via existing PV power in 20min@600W. The wash cycle lasts the same time dimmed and non-dimmed, 3Sth 10min. The iron ua-cam.com/video/-71oL7z1kMU/v-deo.html , dishwasher ua-cam.com/video/8vnAkrS1x-s/v-deo.html , oven , electric heater, ua-cam.com/video/QbLWDbJi6ew/v-deo.html , waffle iron youtube.com /shorts/ofanZCdYEjA?feature=share , coffee machine, all internal heating is throttled with me. Lots of videos on my channel. The inverter stays cool and quiet and the MOSFETs + (battery packs) stay intact because extreme total currents no longer arrive at the inverter. Now every Mini PV Inverter is enough to operate large devices. So, with the dimmer, all internal heaters/devices can be converted into base load devices that stay almost permanently ON, drawing very little current directly from the PV. With a wattmeter / energy cost meter you can then measure this perfectly in order to set the dimmer optimally. .... 🌞 .... "smart energy saving" made a meaningful reaction explanation video about the dimmer: ua-cam.com/video/EHtJGiXAjZk/v-deo.html . 2.) My automatic DIY solar tracker 2-axis: ua-cam.com/video/_Rs8CptQcDw/v-deo.html . 👌... More videos on my channel. 🌞... 3.) A "split air conditioning system", is a mini heat pump, for heating and cooling and costs only 400€ at net or ua-cam.com/video/wB8rq-D9PAQ/v-deo.html or https:/ /ua-cam.com/video/wo0cgRJcbsU/v-deo.html and everyone can DIY for free because it's so quick and easy. 800Wp solar/balcony power plant costs 499€ at net, 2-3 of them provide free solar power for the mini heat pumps / split air conditioning system (up to 15°C). In winter, when it is extremely cold, you can continue to use your old gas heating normally for a short time. The efficiency of the heat pump is 300-580%, since "COP" is 3...5.8, which is why it is so superior to all technologies, because 1kW/h of solar power becomes 5.8kW/h of heat. A marvel of technology, and the efficiency winner. A large heat pump costs €3000-5000 ua-cam.com/video/_ovT0G5v-Z8/v-deo.html DIY, which usually runs free of charge from the solar roof €5000 DIY. When it gets really cold, you can bridge these days with your old gas heater. In winter, more electricity comes from neighboring countries, but that's not a problem because of the interconnected grid. Hydrogen has an efficiency of max. 20%, against 580% heat pump. The heat pump is absolutely superior, and you can leave everything as it is with the old gas-oil heating system, you don't have to change anything... Explanation: Efficiency and "COP" with a heat pump: ua-cam.com/video/E3NUW0L8_cg/v-deo.html . E-cars, heat pumps, power plants

I wonder if one could somehow put the panels further forward the front-end, covering the rear-wheel, to shorten the total-length, and increase maneuverability... Otherwise, less toys, more free space, a bed under the panels, for the night, and for stretching the body during the breaks (as others have already noted...). Cycling would be more than enough sport for me, so, in my non-cycling time i´d rather relax than doing something adventurous like he does (and what he carries all the equipment for)... I´d maybe take a football and even football-boots...
